Mayavi (Tamil: மாயாவி) is a 2006–2007 Indian-Tamil language3Dfantasyadventurethriller series[1] starring Ganesh Venkatraman, Debina Bonnerjee, Gurmeet Choudhary. It was the first Indian 3D series.[2] It aired on Jaya TV every Saturday at 21:00 (IST) for 26 episodes.[3] The series won the Special Prize at Seoul International Drama Awards in 2007, and was the first Indian entry to be on the award list.[4]
Plot[edit]
Vikram (Ganesh Venkatraman) has special powers: each of his five fingers is capable of drawing one of the five basic elements (fire, wind, water, earth, ether). He becomes a living legend in fighting crime, and the nemesis of all evil men throughout the world.

International broadcast[edit]
In India, the series aired as Mayavi in the state of Kerala on Kairali TV dubbed in Malayalam, and in the state of Andhra Pradesh on Zee Telugu dubbed in Telugu from October 2007.[10][11] It was also dubbed in other languages like Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati and Rajasthani for all the others Indian channels.
As The Iron Handed Phantom - Mayavi, the series aired dubbed in South Korea,[12]China (in Mandarin)[12] and Australia. It also aired in Europe.[13]

Maayavi (English: Phantom) is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language actiondramedy film directed by Singampuli that stars Suriya and Jyothika who plays a fictional version of herself, whilst Vijayakanth and Roja play short cameo roles. The film's score and soundtrack were composed by Devi Sri Prasad.[1] The plot is loosely based on the novel The Fan Club by Irving Wallace.
Plot[edit]
Abhes Balayya (Suriya), the guide conman thief, is footloose and fancy-free. He and his acolyte Sathyaraj (Sathyan) have no hangups in life. He is also a huge fan of actor Ajith Kumar. Balayya's problems start when he and Sathyaraj land up in a huge villa on the beachfront. It is actually actress Jothika's (Jyothika) house. When they realize it, they want to replace what they have taken. As it happens, the actress catches them and creates a huge issue out of it. For their efforts, they are put behind bars. Jothika does not like Balayya at all. Balayya goes out to take revenge on her and kidnap her. Just about when the whole industry and her family tries to trace Jothika, she understands the real Balayya. In the end, Balayya comes to see her and gives her a gift, which is the photographs they took together.

The film's soundtrack, was scored by Devi Sri Prasad, marking his first collaboration with Suriya. Devi Sri Prasad translated and copied the song Maar Maar in this film, the original is from the Telugu film Venky.
